The nationwide hartal called by Left and non—BJP opposition parties on Tuesday to protest against the UPA Government’s policies triggering price rise may affect normal life in Kerala.

Left parties and their trade union wings in the State have urged the people in all walks of life to join the protest.

The hartal followers have also plans to block rail traffic at selected spots across the State. They urged the people to avoid train journeys on Tuesday in view of the protest.

Besides the parties in the Left alliance like CPI(M), CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc, non-BJP opposition parties like SP, RJD, AIADMK, BJD, TDP, INLD extended support to the hartal, Left sources said here.
