Left must clarify stance: RSP, Forward Bloc

May 15, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:57 am IST - KOLLAM:

Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) central secretariat member N.K. Premachandran, MP, and All India Forward Bloc secretary D. Devarajan have said that the unity of the progressive secular and democratic forces is vital for countering the growth of communal forces in the country.

“But unfortunately a section of the Left parties in Kerala have taken a stand that is contrary to such a requirement,” they said in a joint statement here on Saturday.

The CPI(M) and the CPI had a duty to clarify to the voters their confused logic of joining hands with the Congress in West Bengal and opposing the Congress in Kerala, they said. The stand of these two parties to defeat the Congress in Kerala posed a challenge to secularism and tolerance.
