The Chief Minister of Kerala facing the judicial commission probing the solar scam for alleged corruption and favouritism was a shame on literate Kerala, Bharatiya Janata Party State president Kummanam Rajasekharan has said.

He was addressing a public reception accorded to the Kerala Vimochana Yatra led by him at Thiruvalla on Saturday.

The BJP leader blamed both the Congress-led United Democratic Front and the Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Democratic Front that had ruled the State in successive terms since 1957 for the “sad state of affairs in the State’s development.” Mr. Rajasekharan alleged that the LDF and the UDF were the two sides of the same coin. He said the overwhelming public reception and public acceptance to the Yatra across the State was the beginning of the State’s reformation on all fronts.

He said the BJP envisaged good governance of the State, duly acknowledging the feelings, thoughts and vision of the common people of Kerala.

The BJP and its feeder organisations accorded rousing receptions to the party State president and the yatra in all the five Assembly segments of Thiruvalla, Ranni, Konni, Pathanamthitta and Adoor on Saturday.

Union Minister of State for Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan inaugurated the public meeting held at the private bus stand in Pathanamthitta in the afternoon.

M.T. Ramesh, A.N. Radhakrishnan, Shobha Surendran, P.K. Krishnadas, V.N. Unni, K.R. Prathapachandra Varma, BJP State leaders Renu R. Suresh, and Bharatiya Mahila Morcha State president, were among those who have accompanied the Yatra in Pathanamthitta.
