Karunakara Guru’s 85th birth anniversary celebrations begin

The birthplace of spiritual leader Karunakara Guru will soon become a globally sought after pilgrim centre, with more and more people now realising the value of his teachings, Union Minister of State for Power K.C. Venugopal has said.

Inaugurating the week-long celebrations of the late Guru’s 85th birth anniversary at the Santhigiri Ashram at Chandiroor near Alappuzha on Sunday, Mr. Venugopal said the Guru had given the world the concept of

spirituality that extended beyond the realms of religion. His spirituality was one that took the lives of the common man along the paths of compassion and brotherhood, he said.

A.M. Arif, MLA, presided over. Santhigiri Healthcare and Research Organization head Swami Jyothiroopajnana Tapaswi and others were also present.
