September 09, 2009 03:05 pm | Updated November 17, 2021 06:53 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Jet Airways had to cancel its flight from Thiruvananthapuram international airport to Muscat and Mumbai for the second consecutive day on Wednesday in view of the strike by the pilots demanding the reinstatement of two colleagues sacked by the airline.

However, the flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai operated as per schedule. The flight which arrived from Bangalore at 12.05 p.m. left for Chennai at 12.35 p.m.

Airline sources said the other domestic flight from here to Bangalore will be operated as per schedule at 4.35 p.m.

According to the airline sources, a majority of the 140 Musact-bound passengers stranded in the capital following the cancellation of the flight to Muscat on Tuesday were ‘rerouted’ through Chennai today. The airline had accommodated the passengers at a city hotel.

The passengers booked on the Jet Airways flight to Muscat on Wednesday had also been rerouted through Chennai on other airlines. “Not many Muscat-bound passengers are stranded in the capital. Efforts are on to sent them to Muscat,” an airline official said.
