Inspection of TDB strongrooms to begin tomorrow

Digital pictures of gold and silver ornaments will be taken

Former Director General of Police V. Krishnamoorthy will inspect the strong rooms under the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) where valuables, including ornaments are kept, from July 16.

Mr. Krishnamoorthy who took charge on Friday, will start his work from Sree Subramanya Swamy Temple, Haripad, from July 16. Digital pictures of the gold and silver ornaments kept in the strong rooms would be taken after inspections to be carried out in the presence of either the TDB president, a member.

The board would have a panel for conducting the inspections. It comprises the Thiruvabharanam Commissioner, Devaswom Vigilance and Security Superintendent, District Deputy Devaswom Commissioner, Assistant Devaswom Commissioner, and Administrative Officer or Sub-Group Officer.

The former DGP would also examine the jewel boxes, and pouches in which the ornaments are being kept. Details of the valuables would be entered in a register and its pictures would be stored in CDs. It has been proposed to conduct a security audit of the strong rooms.
