A peace meeting on Monday called in the wake of the political violence in the capital got off to an unpleasant start with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan snapping at mediapersons for entering the conference room.
“Get out,” an impatient Mr. Vijayan told the large media contingent as he arrived for the meeting. He later evaded questions related to it at the briefing that followed the meeting.
Later, in a Facebook post, the Chief Minister’s Office claimed that mediapersons were not invited for the bilateral talks and that permission had not been granted to record visuals prior to the meeting. A meeting of such nature could not be held in the presence of journalists, it stated.
