Ousted Government Chief Whip P.C. George has come down heavily on Finance Minister K.M. Mani and his family members, accusing them of having amassed massive wealth both within and outside the country.

Addressing a large gathering of supporters who accorded him a civic reception here on Thursday, Mr. George said Mr. Mani had all along been ‘selling budgets’.

When he spoke about this to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and mentioned a particular year from when Mr. Mani had begun doing so, Mr. Chandy corrected him by referring to an earlier year, Mr. George said and alleged that Mr. Mani had tried to ‘silence’ him by making him the Deputy Speaker of the Kerala Assembly.

He had later become the Government Chief Whip and showed the people of Kerala that such a post existed.

He also read out what he claimed to be instances of wealth amassment by Mr. Mani and his family members, specifically his son and MP Jose K. Mani.
