Funds sanctioned to disburse welfare pensions

The government has sanctioned funds to disburse the social welfare pensions before Onam.

An official release said here on Friday that ₹1,952.92 crore has been sanctioned for clearing the arrears from May to August and ₹724.39 crore, for clearing the arrears from June 2016 to April this year. The government has sanctioned ₹2,677.31 crore in total for distributing the pensions. A sum of ₹241 crore has been sanctioned for clearing the farmers’ pension, including arrears.
