Fishers’ cooperation vital for coastal security: Minister

Fisheries Minister J. Mercykutty Amma has said the government should ensure cooperation of the fishing community to achieve its coastal security targets.

She said the government must create more awareness in the community in this regard.

The Fisheries Minister was addressing a gathering in Kollam on Saturday after inaugurating a costal security awareness programme organised by the Fisheries Department in association with the district administration, Indian Navy, and the Society for Assistance to Fisherwomen.
