Fisherman found dead under mysterious circumstances

A fisherman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a way side at Karanthakkad locality here.

The body of P. V. Ramesha (48), a resident of Kasaba beach, was found lying upside down on Wednesday with scores of injuries in his face, knees while there were symptoms of blood oozing from the mouth.

The locals who traced the man lying on the road side informed the police, who confirmed his death, police sources here said.

In view of the mystery in the death of the man, his body was sent to the Pariyaram Medical College hospital for carrying out detailed post-mortem.

According to relatives of the deceased, Ramesha had left home on Wednesday afternoon.

The spot where the body was located was said to be a centre where, miscreants and anti-social elements used to gather allegedly indulge in illegal liquor trade.
