For projects in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode
The corporate office of Kerala Monorail Corporation Ltd (KMCL), the special purpose vehicle set up to execute the Rs.5,581-crore elevated mass rapid transit system in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the capital on Tuesday.
The office is located opposite the Manmohan Bungalow on the Kowdiar-Vellayambalam road.
Mr. Chandy formally unveiled the logo of the KMCL and held discussions with Minister for Finance K.M. Mani; Minister for Public Works V.K. Ebrahim Kunju; Minister for Health V.S. Sivakumar; Minister for Port K. Babu; K. Muraleedharan, and M.A. Vaheed, MLAs; KMCL Managing Director P.C. Harikesh; and project officials.
The project office of the KMCL, which will coordinate the work in Kozhikode, will be formally inaugurated on July 6 at the B block of the Civil Station in Kozhikode.
Global tenders for the monorail will be floated this week.
The 22.2-km monorail in the capital has been mooted from Technocity to Karamana and 14.2-km monorail in Kozhikode will be from the Government Medical College Hospital area to Meenchantha, with 15 stations.
