The district administration will ensure proper follow-up action on the petitions received at all the taluk-level complaint redressal adalats, District Collector R. Girija has said.

The Collector was addressing the taluk-level adalat at Revenue Towers at Adoor on Wednesday. She said directions had already been issued to the officials concerned for addressing the complaints in a time-bound manner.

Ms. Girija said the taluk-level adalats in the district would come to a close on August 24. A majority of the petitions received at these adalats were related to the prioritisation of ration cards, she said.

192 petitions

A total of 192 petitions came up for hearing at the adalat held at Adoor on Wednesday and 47 of them have been disposed of at the venue itself.

The 36 complaints concerning ration cards were forwarded to the Taluk Supply Officer for disposal and the remaining 109 petitions were forwarded to the departments concerned, according to official sources.
