CM to commission drinking water project

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will commission the drinking water project of the Kalpetta municipality at the HIMUP school grounds here at 4 p.m. on May 3.

Minister for Urban Affairs Manjalamkuzhi Ali will inaugurate a public meet to be held in connection with the programme and Water Resources Minister P.J. Joseph will inaugurate the water supply connection of the project.

M.V. Shreyamskumar, MLA, will preside over the function. The project has been completed under the Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns of the Union government at a cost of Rs.50.17 crore. More than 80,000 families under the municipal area will benefit from the project.
