The late C.M. Sundaram’s clean image, simplicity, and commitment to the downtrodden sections of society should be emulated by all, according to the district convener of the United Democratic Front A. Ramaswamy.
Inaugurating the seventh death anniversary observance of the former Minister, who was councillor of Palakkad municipality for 33 years and MLA for five terms, at Olavakkode, near here, Mr. Ramaswamy said a fitting memorial should be built in memory of the veteran politician and humanist. He said the late leader was able to bring in a lot of developmental activities to Palakkad and its surroundings.
Organising committee chairman P.N. Viswanathan presided. The former municipal vice-chairman S.R. Balasubramaniyan; Indian Union Muslim League district secretary M.M. Hameed; K.V. Vasudevan of Kerala Brahmana Sabha and Krishnan, president of Palakkad Cooperative Urban Bank, spoke.
