Child injured in Tirunelveli accident dies

Three-and-a-half-year-old Aaron who was seriously injured in the January 8 bus accident in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. Aaron was under treatment at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. His right leg was amputated. His mother Lisha Mary and younger brother Alroy were killed in the accident. His father Biju escaped with minor injuries.

The family was returning with a group of people after a pilgrimage to Velankanni. Nine persons were killed on the spot. The accident occurred when the bus rammed a culvert and overturned.
