Chennithala: LDF a divided house

Alleges CM bid to save Minister

Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala said here on Saturday that the raging row over the alleged land encroachment by Transport Minister Thomas Chandy exposed the widening rift between the two major coalition partners in the Left Democratic Front.

“By expressing his displeasure over the removal of the Additional Advocate General from the land encroachment case, Revenue Minister E. Chandrasekharan (of the CPI) has bared his differences with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan (of the CPI-M),” he said in a press note.

Mr.Chennithala said the Chief Minister’s desperate bid to shield Mr.Chandy had led to the squabble with the CPI.

“The CPI(M) knows that its coalition partner lacks the courage to do anything other than make a hue and cry over the issue,” he added.
