Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will not oust Government Chief Whip P.C. George even if the Kerala Congress (M) leader and Finance Minister K.M. Mani ousted him from the party, Communist Party of India (Marxist) central committee member E.P. Jayarajan has said.
Mr. Jayarajan was addressing a public meeting in connection with the foundation laying ceremony of the DYFI Youth Centre here on Friday evening.
Fear factor
Mr. Chandy’s fear was that the shocking details of his corruption and political manipulations using Mr. George would be exposed, once the latter was ousted from the post of Government Chief Whip, he alleged.
The corrupt deals behind the resignation of R. Selvaraj as CPI(M) MLA earlier, the solar scam, and bar licence bribery case would be exposed with the ouster of Mr. George, he said.
Mr. Jayarajan said office-bearers of the Bar Hotel Owners’ Association had already stated that many ministers, including the Chief Minister, had accepted bribe from them.
State of anarchy
He alleged that a situation of anarchy prevailed in the State and even the Director General of Police felt that his life too was in danger.
P.R. Pradeep, DYFI district president, presided.
