Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has expressed concern about condition of Mullaperiyar dam.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the mass contact programme here on Saturday, he said that officials have been asked to submit a study report on the safety aspects of the dam.
He said that the State will approach the Supreme Court and Tamil Nadu on the issue after getting this report.
Officials from the Department of Water Resources have spotted a slight leak in the structure of the dam on Friday. Minor tremors were also reported on Friday morning in Idukki, where the dam is situated.
