Bharat Sevashram Sangh (BSS), a socio-cultural and philanthropic organisation founded by Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj in 1917, has opened a free medical camp for pilgrims at Pampa on the foothills of Sabarimala.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Swami Biswatmanandaji, BSS chief co-ordinator at Sabarimala, said the Sangh has been doing healthcare service during the annual pilgrim season at Sabarimala since the past 20 years.
The medical team comprised volunteers from the BSS headquarters Kolkata as well as its centres at Hyderabad, Rameswaram, Kanyakumari, Bangalore, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, he added.
Dr. Dilip K. Bhattacharya, Dr. S.P. Gupta, Dr. Brahmachari Partha Maharaj, Swami Divyajnananandaji and Brahmachari Swapan Maharaj have been camping at Pampa.
The BSS would open its second medical camp at Appachimedu on the Pampa-Sannidhanam trekking path soon, statement said.
