BJYM plans satyagraha

May 15, 2010 08:36 pm | Updated 08:36 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will stage a 24-hour satyagraha in front of the Secretariat on May 18 in protest against the failure of the government to fill vacant posts in government services.

Morcha State president V.V. Rajesh told the media here on Saturday that various government departments and agencies had not reported the posts that had fallen vacant, following retirements at the end of march, to the Public Service Commission (PSC). Hundreds of posts were vacant in municipal common service. As many as 130 rank lists of the PSC had expired on April 30.

He said the satyagraha was the second stage of agitations against anti-youth policies of the government. Morcha activists would stage demonstrations in front of district offices of the PSC on June 8.
