The inclusion of the controversial Aranmula airport project in the Economic Survey of the Union government has exposed the dual face of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Left Democratic Front (LDF) district convener Alex Kannamala has alleged.
‘Deceit of commoners’
In a statement issued here on Monday, Mr. Kannamala alleged that the BJP-led government’s move to implement the project, against which both the National Green Tribunal and the Supreme Court of India had made strong negative remarks, amounted to treachery and deceit of the common people.
‘Undemocratic move’
The indifferent attitude of the Centre and the State towards the strong mass movement against the move to destroy water-rich paddy land, wetland, and places of worship in Aranmula was undemocratic, the statement alleged.
Mr. Kannamala said the LDF would intensify the mass agitation against the anti-people policies adopted by the Union and State governments with regard to the Aranmula airport project.
