: The former Catholicos Baselius Mar Thoma Mathews-II was a highly elevated personality who had shown the world that one could easily humble anyone with love, said Malankara Metropolitan and Catholicos of the East Moran Mor Baselius Mar Thoma Paulose-II.
The Catholicos was inaugurating the birth centenary celebrations of the former Catholicos Baselius Mar Thoma Mathews-II, held at St. Cyril’s College in Adoor on Friday.
He said Baselius Mar Thoma Mathews-II was revered and honoured by all.
Metropolitan of the Kollam diocese Zacharia Mar Anthonios presided over the inaugural function.
The Catholcios presented the Baselius Mar Thoma Mathew-II Award to Additional Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson. Minister for Forest Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan launched the cancer care project of the Church and Mr Thomson delivered the Baselius Mar Thoma Mathews-II commemoration speech.
