Banks told to step up security arrangements

With the aim of checking burglaries at banks, jewellery outlets and other financial institutions, the police on Tuesday convened an emergency meeting of those heading such institutions. At the meeting, they were asked to enhance security arrangements at their establishments.

The meeting convened at the office of the Circle Inspector of Police here was attended by around 30 representatives of various institutions. Deputy Superintendent of Police T.P. Ranjith supervised the session.

The stakeholders were told to strengthen security measures in the light of possible power cuts during the monsoon season.

They were told to link the security alarms at their establishments with telephones of respective police stations and to maintain the video footage from CCTVs up to six months.

Kasaragod Circle Inspector P.K. Sudhakaran and other senior officials from the Town police station led the class.
