Banks consortium to lend Rs. 6,750 cr to Mission Bhagiradha

Our BureauTelangana government will get a loan bonanza of Rs. 6,750 crore from a consortium of banks on September 29, 2016 for Mission Bhagiradha, a flagship programme to provide drinking water.

A decision to this effect has been taken at a meeting of representatives of eight public sector banks and government officials here on Friday.

Andhra Bank will extend, Rs. 1,300 crore, Dena Bank Rs. 500 crore, Punjab & Sind Bank Rs. 700 crore, Syndicate Bank Rs. 1,000 crore, Oriental Bank of Commerce Rs. 1,000 crore, Bank of Maharashtra Rs. 1,000 crore, Indian Bank Rs. 750 crore and Allahabad Bank Rs. 500 crore. The consortium will review the progress of the project every three months.
