The pre-bid meeting of prospective bidders participating in the global tender floated by the State government for developing the Azhikkal port here through public-private partnership (PPP) route here has evinced keen interest from major infrastructure development companies.
The meeting convened by the Ports Director Jacob Thomas here on Saturday followed the global tender floated for inviting private partners for the ports’ development in two modules. The total estimated project cost is around Rs. 150 crore. The government has re-tendered bids the port development on design, build, operate and transfer basis through the PPP mode. The last date for submission of the tenders is March 30.
K.M. Shaji, MLA representing the Azhikode constituency, was among those who were present at the pre-bid meeting. Representatives of Adani Ports Pvt. Ltd., Kakkinada Sea Port, ABG Cements, India Cements, Lots Shipping Ltd., International Sea Port Dredging Ltd., INKEL Ltd. Falcon Infrastructure Ltd. Victory Maritime and ASR Dredging Pvt. Ltd. were among those present at the pre-bid meeting. North Malabar Chamber of Commerce president Vinod Narayanan was also present at the meeting.
