All set for counting of votes

Stage is set for the counting of votes polled in the Assembly elections. The counting will start at 8 a.m. in the 13 centres in the district on Thursday.

Postal votes will be counted first. Fifteen tables have been set in each counting centre. A supervisor and an assistant will handle each table. Micro observers have been appointed to monitor the counting process. In all, 663 officials have been appointed on counting duty.

Meanwhile the District Collector declared holiday on May 19 for nine educational institutions where counting will take place.

National Informatics Centre in association with the Kerala State IT Mission, Keltron, and the BSNL has put in place facilities for the public to get election result, said Collector V. Ratheeshan. The public also can see www.trend.kerala.gov.in for the results.

The counting stations for the various constituencies in the district are as follows: Chelakkara (Government Higher Secondary School, Cheruthuruthy); Kunnamkulam (Govt. B.H.S.S. Wadakkanchery ); Guruvayur (M.R. Raman Memorial High School, Chavakkad); Manalur (Sreekrishna H.S.S. Guruvayur); Wadakkanchery (Govt. Engineering College, P.G. Block , Thrissur); Ollur (Govt. Engineering College, School of Architecture, Thrissur); Thrissur (Govt. Engineering College, School of Architecture, Thrissur); Nattika (Govt. Engineering College, EEE Block, Thrissur); Kaipamangalam (Govt. K.K.T.M. College, Pullott) ; Kodungallur (Govt. K.K.T.M. College, Pullott); Irinjalakuda (Christ College auditorium, Irinjalakuda); Puthukkad (St. Joseph College, Irinjalakuda) and Chalakudy (Carmel H.S.S. Chalakudy).
