Achuthanandan to attend óCPI(M) rally

February 23, 2013 02:43 am | Updated 02:43 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan on Friday said he would participate in a CPI(M) national rally being taken out from Kanyakumari on Sunday.

Replying to questions at a press conference here, he said the Kolkata session of the central committee had taken the decision to stage the rally and affirmed that he would participate in it. When asked whether he would continue to stay away from the State committee and State secretariat meetings, he said he had informed the party about the reasons for his not attending the meetings.

Mr. Achuthanandan appeared to be reluctant to field questions related to his current relation with the party leadership and abruptly ended the press conference when more questions came up from the media.
