BJP State president Kummanam Rajasekharan on Saturday said though he knew godman Gangesananda Theerthapada, alias Sreehari, the latter had no connection with the BJP or the NDA.

“He used to attend the meetings of sanyasis . He was part of a group of sanyasis that accompanied me to visit V.S. Achuthanandan, when he was Chief Minister. Strong action should be taken against the guilty” he said, maintaining that all sanyasis in the State were known to him. Asked about the godman’s participation in several agitations, including the Aranmula protests, he said it was a struggle that lasted about three years.

“Several sanyasis had taken part in it,” he said.
