THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court on Friday ordered a preliminary probe into the appointment of Director General of Police N. Sankar Reddy as head of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB).

The court has also ordered an investigation into the roles of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Leader of Opposition and former Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and former Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson in the elevation of Mr. Reddy to the position. The orders were issued while considering a petition submitted by Paichira Navas, a local resident.
