The district administration has identified 22 polling booths as sensitive in the Chengannur Assembly constituency. District Collector T.V. Anupama said here on Saturday that measures had been taken to webcast all proceedings from the sensitive polling booths in order to ensure transparency and monitoring of any untoward incidents on the election day.
“We have identified sensitive polling booths and surveillance cameras will be installed in all these booths a day prior to the election. Election officers and other officials concerned can watch the proceedings at the control room,” the Collector said.
The voting will be webcast live from Pavukkara Melpadom Church Mission L.P. School (polling station no:1), Pavukkara Mar Dionysius L.P. School (no:3), Pandanad Illimala Homeo Hospital (no:29), Thiruvanvandoor Government L.P. School (no: 33), Thiruvanvandoor Government HSS (no: 34, 34 A and 35), Mulakuzha Government L.P. School (no: 66).
Areekkara SNDP U.P. School (no:67), Budhanoor Government HSS (no: 100 and 103), Ennakkad Government U.P. School (no: 105 and 107), Peringilipuram U.P. School (no: 109 and 110), Kollakadavu Government Mohammedans U.P. School (no: 144), Cheruvalloor Junior Basic School (no: 146), Kollakadavu CMS L.P. School (no: 148).
Kodukulanji Karode Salem U.P. School (no: 153), Venmony Marthoma High School (no: 157), Venmony panchayat community hall (no: 158) and Venmony St. Jude’s English Medium School (no: 163).
The byelection is scheduled on May 28.
