Two boys, cousins, were drowned after they fell into a well in their house compound at Ubrangala, near Badiadukka, on Tuesday.

Ramzan, 4, son of Hameed, and Naswan, 2, son of Hameed’s brother Shabbeer, fell into the well around 9.30 a.m., the police said.

The boys were playing with their tricycle and went missing when their mothers were busy preparing food.

Local people found the net covering the well torn and took the kids out of the well. The boys were declared “brought dead” at the community health centre at Badiadukka. Mr. Hameed and Mr. Shabbeer are employed in the Gulf.
