114 naval cadets awarded B.Tech. degree

In a convocation ceremony at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala here on Tuesday, 114 cadets were awarded B.Tech. degree by Jawaharlal Nehru University Vice Chancellor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar.

The cadets of the 93rd INA course were awarded their degree at a function attended by, among others, their parents and guardians. INA Commandant Vice Admiral S.V. Bhokara, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor Rear Admiral M.D. Suresh, and INA Principal Rear Admiral Amit Vikram were present at the ceremony. The graduating midshipmen acquired their B.Tech. degree in one of the three streams, namely Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering (AEC), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME), awared by Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Prof. Kumar in his convocation speech, advised the graduating midshipmen to apply the technical knowledge that they have acquired to formulate innovative solutions to today’s problems.

The Chief of the Naval Staff Rolling Trophy for the Midshipman in the AEC stream was awarded to Rishav Saha; the Chief of the Naval Staff Rolling Trophy for best in the ECE stream to Deepak Kumar and the Chief of the Naval Staff Rolling Trophy for best in the ME stream was awarded to Kapil Yadav.
