A 25-year-old man was arrested on charge of snatching a mobile phone booked on an e-commerce platform from the delivery person.

Inspector of Vijaynagar police station C.V. Ravi told The Hindu that the Kiran had booked a mobile phone costing Rs. 40,000 on Amazon, the e-commerce portal, by not only listing a false address while placing an order, but also the number of a borrowed SIM card.

“When the delivery man arrived with the booked parcel and called him to find out the address, Kiran directed him to meet him at a location in Hinkal. On meeting the delivery man, Kiran asked him to accompany him to his father who would make the payment. But, en-route, Kiran allegedly snatched the parcel containing the mobile phone, pushed the delivery man and escaped”, the police said. On receiving a complaint, the police tracked the mobile number and questioned the owner of the SIM card. On learning that the SIM card had been borrowed by Kiran, the police interrogated him and recovered the robbed mobile phone, which he had kept in his house.
