Bharatiya Janata Party State president B.S. Yeddyurappa has written to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh seeking an investigation into the role played by the Amnesty International India in organising the event that led to protests by ABVP activists. Taking exception to the State government arresting about 30 ABVP activists who protested against the alleged “anti-India and anti-Army” comments made at the event, he claimed that Karnataka government had not acted against those who indulged in “nefarious designs” and acted only against the ABVP activists.
