Yadgir CMC gets deficit budget

President of the Yadgir City Municipal Council Suresh Kattimani presented a deficit budget of Rs. 3.06 crore for the year 2015-16 in the general body meeting of the council in Yadgir on Thursday.

While the expected revenue was Rs. 23.09 crore, the expenditure was shown as Rs. 26.15 crore in the budget. A sum of Rs. 12.64 crore was expected from the revenue receipts followed by Rs. 44 lakh from the capital receipts and Rs. 10 crore from extraordinary receipts. Mr. Kattimani said that Rs. 8 crore would have to be made as revenue payments followed by Rs. 8.86 crore for capital payments and Rs. 9.26 crore for extraordinary payments.

Construction

The deficit of Rs. 3.06 crore was mainly due to the decision to construct 1,000 individual toilets at a cost of Rs. 3 crore in the city.

A requisition would be submitted to the State government for making good the deficit amount.
