Woman succumbs to burns

A woman died of burns after being set ablaze, allegedly by her sister in Vajamangala of Mysuru taluk.

The victim has been identified as Puttavenkatamma (30). She was set ablaze allegedly by her sister, Pallavi, who was allegedly in an illicit relationship with her brother-in-law. Puttavenkatamma was admitted to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru where she died on Saturday night. The Mysuru rural police have registered a case and are investigating.

Woman poisoned

In another incident of domestic strife from Periyapatana, a woman was poisoned allegedly by her husband over a property dispute.

The victim, identified as Shobha (29), allegedly had frequent altercations with her husband, Vasanth Kumar, who insisted that the property registered in his mother-in-law’s name be transferred to him.

The two fought over the issue on Saturday night and overcome by anger Vasanthkumar poisoned his wife with pesticide. She was admitted to the K.R.Hospital in Mysuru where she died on Sunday morning. Bettadapura police have registered a case.
