A woman died on the spot and five others suffered injuries after a car they were travelling in fell into gorge in Shiradi Ghat on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Pushpa (46), a resident of Kunigal in Tumkur district.
Sakleshpur Rural police said that Pushpa and her family members were on the way to Dharmasthala.
The police said that Pushpa’s son Kiran was driving the car. He lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve and the vehicle fell into the gorge.
The injured have been identified as Pushpa’s husband Shivanna, Kiran, Karthik, Kavya and Kavya’s baby.
All of them have been admitted to Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment.
