Victims’ families receive compensation cheques

Baburao Chinchansur, MLA and chairman of Karnataka State Border Development Authority, distributed compensation cheques of ₹20 lakh to the families of those who were killed by lightning in Goudigera, Sannasabra and Balichakra Tanda in Yadgir taluk on Thursday. Each family was compensated ₹4 lakh.

In the recent rains, a total five people, including two from one family, were killed after they were struck by lightning.

Of them, three were in Goudigera, and one each in Sannasabra and Balichakra tanda. Basareddy Gowda Malipatil, president, zilla panchayat; Chidanand Kalabelagundi, and others were present.
