Vaccination camp from today

The Basaveshwar Teaching and General Hospital here is offering vaccination to prevent Hepatatis B at subsidised rates at a three- day screen camp at the hospital as part of an event to mark World Hepatatis Day on Thursday.

Inaugurating a screening camp, president of the Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society Basavaraj Bhimalli said that undetected Hepatatis B would lead to developing of liver cancer.

Opportunity

He called upon the people to use the opportunity to administer the vaccine at subsidised rates. Senior gastroenterologist Shivanand Patil said that the early detection of symptoms could prevent the development of Hepatocellular carcinoma (cancer) and cirrohosis of liver.
