Upsets likely among 1998 batch KPSC recruits

November 12, 2014 09:48 am | Updated 09:48 am IST - Bengaluru:

There may be a major reshuffle in the positions of as many as 383 public servants, who joined gazetted probationers Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ posts in 2005-06 on their selection in the 1998 batch of recruitment through the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).

This situation has arisen as the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday asked the KPSC to publish the revised rank list, which was prepared by the commission after redoing the re-moderation of answer scripts of the 1998 batch after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) found that re-moderation done earlier was incorrect.

As a result, some officers who joined Group ‘A’ posts, such as Assistant Commissioners, could be moved down to Group ‘B’ posts like tahsildars, and some could move up to Group ‘A’ posts.

Meanwhile, all the 383 selected candidates, who are serving in various KAS cadres for the past nine years, were served with the High Court’s notice.
