Mohan Kondaji and P.R. Ramesh, who were nominated as members of the Karnataka Legislative Council by the State Government, were sworn in on Monday. They were administered the oath of secrecy by Council Chairman D.H. Shankaramurthy.

Apart from Mr. Kondaji and Mr. Ramesh, the government had also recommended the name of former MLA C.M. Lingappa for the three vacant seats in the Council, under the category of ‘experts or persons of eminence’.

However, Governor Vajubhai R. Vala had rejected Mr. Lingappa’s name on the grounds that he was not eligible to be selected under the education or social category.
