Two men who went to the rescue of their sister were electrocuted at Shanaganahalli in Madhugiri taluk on Friday. The police gave the names of the dead as Narayanappa (60) and Ramachandrappa (58).

Around 6.30 a.m., their sister Eshwaramma (49) was hanging wet clothes on an iron wire tied to an iron pipe through which an electric wire had been drawn. She suffered electric shocks and screamed for help. Narayanappa and Ramachandrappa rescued her, but came in contact with the live wire in the process and were electrocuted. Eshwaramma was provided treatment in a hospital in Kodigenahalli.
