Two killed, several injured in accidents

Two men were killed and several were injured in two road accidents in Raichur district on Friday.

In the first incident, two cars collided near Seekal Cross of Manvi village killing two men and injuring eight.

The dead were identified as Suresh Reddy (42), a native of Nijalingappa Colony, Raichur, and Gangadhar (38), a native of Hanchinal village in Deodurg taluk. The two were on their way to Hubballi from Raichur. The other vehicle was on its way from Bengaluru to Mantralayam, the police said.

All injured were treated at a local hospital before being referred to Raichur.

In the other incident, at least 20 persons were injured after the vehicle in which they were travelling overturned near Somanamaradi village in Deodurg taluk.
