Two killed as courier van rams into truck

Two persons were killed on the spot and two others sustained injuries when a courier van rammed into a stationary lorry on NH-4 in Sira taluk in the district early Tuesday morning.

The police identified the deceased as Prashanth and Prakash, both 30 years old. The injured are Anand and Mallikarjuna. All were working with Professional courier at Badami in Bagalkot district.

The vehicle they were travelling in from Bagalkot to Bangalore rammed into the stationary lorry parked in the middle of the road following a tyre burst. The accident occurred around 5.45 a.m. Two persons were killed on the spot and other two were injured.

The injured are receiving the treatment at Tumkur district government hospital. A case has been registered in Kallambella police station.
