Two Bangalore-based software engineers killed, five injured in road accident in Hassan

Two software engineers, employees of McAfee in Bangalore, died on the spot and five persons were injured in a road accident near Ramasagar Gate near Arsikere at around 3 a.m. on Saturday.

The dead have been identified as Arjun Narayanaswamy (25) of Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh and Prasanna Kunche (26) of Chennai.

According to Arsikere Rural police, six friends and a driver were going from Bangalore to Jog falls in Shimoga district when the accident occurred.

Negotiating a curve

Shabareesh, the driver, lost control of the sports utility vehicle while negotiating a curve near Ramasagar Gate as a result of which the vehicle overturned killing two persons on the spot.

Shivagunavanth, Shabareesh, Munesh, Mulachand and Vikash were injured.

The post-mortem of the two dead persons was conducted at the government hospital in Arsikere.

Arsikere Rural police have registered a case.
