Tumkur district registers pass percentage of 58

Tumkur district registered a pass percentage of 58 in the II Pre-University examination and secured 17th place in the State.

Deputy Director of Pre-University Department, Tumkur, Jayaprakash said on Thursday that last year the district had registered 67.38 per cent passes and was in the 14th place.

This year, of the 26,519 students who appeared for the examination, 15,380 passed.

Of the 10,555 students who appeared for the examination in the arts stream, 5,353 passed, registering a pass percentage of 50.72.

As many as 8,713 appeared for the examination in the commerce stream and 6,141 of them passed, registering a pass percentage of 70.48.

Of the 7,251 students who appeared for the examination in the science stream, 3,886 passed, registering a pass percentage of 53.59.
