Trauma care centre to be ready by November

Minister of State for Medical Education and Kalaburagi in-charge Sharanprakash Patil said that work on the trauma care centre being established in Kalaburagi at a cost of ₹ 25 crore would be completed by the end of November this year. He was speaking at a function in Nandur (B) village after laying the foundation stone for a new primary health centre.

“We are going to open government medical colleges in every district to produce more doctors. With the purpose of extending quality healthcare services to the poor and marginalised sections of Hyderabad Karnataka, we have opened branches of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research and Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in Kalaburagi. Services are offered free for people from Below Poverty Line category and those from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and at 70 % concession to those from the Above Poverty Line category,” he said.

G. Ramakrishna, MLA from Kalaburagi Rural constituency, presided over the function. District Health and Family Welfare officer Shivaraj Sajjanshetty and others were present.
