Toll goes up to fivein A.P. road accident

Two among injured died on Thursday

Toll in Wednesday’s road accident in Andhra Pradesh involving pilgrims from Kalaburagi went up to five on Thursday, with two of the 16 injured dying in a private hospital. Three passengers, Vijaykumar (40), Sridevi Rajeshwar (42) and Nagamma Mathapati (44), died on Wednesday night.

The deceased, including three women and an eight-year-old girl, were on their way back home from Srisailam in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh when their vehicle collided with a KSTRC bus heading to Srisailam from Ballari in the Nallamala forest range, near Chintala, on Wednesday night.

The police identified those who died in hospital on Thursday as Neelamma Mathapati (46) and Varsha Natekar (8), residents of Dongargaon in Kalaburagi district.

The injured persons, including Laxmi, Jagadevi, Anusuya, Kasturbai, Gauramma, Ambika, Surekha, Swaroop, Ishwar, Sangeeta, Guru Bai, Umesh, Aruna and Bhagyashri, are admitted in private hospital.
