The Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has described the budget as laying down a road map for comprehensive development.

MCCI president A.S. Satish said some proposals such as tax exemption for contribution towards programmes like Swachch Bharat will give a fillip to the investment environment. The MCCI said establishment of an IIT in Karnataka was a long-pending demand and would shore up technical competency. Commenting on the rollout of Goods and Services Tax, the MCCI said the industry hoped this tax structure would encourage additional investments and increase revenue for the government in the years ahead.
